The Department of Emergency and Critical Care at Hai Phong International General Hospital operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including weekends and public holidays.
The physicians and nurses of the Department of Emergency and Critical Care are highly trained and specialized in emergency and critical care medicine. They are fully equipped to receive and manage emergency cases promptly while maintaining close and efficient collaboration with all other specialties throughout the Hospital.
At the Department of Emergency and Critical Care, patients receive rapid and accurate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment. Medical care is provided according to the urgency and severity of each case, ensuring that critically ill patients receive immediate priority treatment until their condition is stabilized.

Emergency Unit
– Receives emergency patients, provides immediate first aid, and performs triage to determine the appropriate level of care. Patients are continuously monitored; once their condition is stabilized, they are transferred to the appropriate specialty departments for further treatment. Patients requiring ongoing critical care continue to be treated within the Department.
– At Hai Phong International General Hospital, the Emergency Department is designed and organized into separate functional areas, including a procedure room, emergency treatment room, intensive treatment room, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), casting room, and a general outpatient internal medicine clinic.
– The emergency treatment rooms are spacious and equipped with advanced medical equipment and modern facilities, enabling the Department to provide comprehensive emergency care for multiple medical specialties simultaneously.
Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
The Intensive Care Unit provides specialized treatment and monitoring for critically ill patients, including those requiring mechanical ventilation. In addition to advanced critical care techniques such as ventilatory support, the ICU at Hai Phong International General Hospital is fully equipped to manage patients undergoing major surgical procedures, including liver abscess surgery, femoral neck fracture surgery, treatment of severe infections and necrosis, acute pancreatitis, cholecystitis, kidney stone surgery, respiratory failure, and other complex surgical interventions.
The Unit also provides comprehensive intensive care management for patients with severe and life-threatening medical conditions, ensuring continuous monitoring and advanced treatment in a highly specialized environment.
