The Department of Pulmonology, Endocrinology and Tropical Diseases is one of the hospital’s key clinical departments, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of internal medicine conditions, including respiratory diseases, endocrine disorders, tropical diseases, and complex medical conditions requiring multidisciplinary care.

The department is staffed by a team of highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated healthcare professionals committed to providing exceptional patient care.
The department is headed by Dr. Pham Dac The, MD, PhD, Medical Resident. Most physicians in the department hold advanced professional qualifications, including Master of Medicine, Medical Resident, Specialist Level I, and Specialist Level II certifications. Many have trained or worked at leading institutions such as the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases, Bach Mai Hospital, completed FFI (Faisant Fonction d’Interne) training in France, or undertaken professional training in South Korea.
Our nursing team consists of well-trained professionals with college and university qualifications who are compassionate, attentive, and fully committed to delivering high-quality patient care.

Pulmonology
Our respiratory specialists diagnose and treat a broad range of pulmonary and airway diseases, including:
- Lung diseases: Community-acquired pneumonia, eosinophilic pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary fungal infections, pulmonary paragonimiasis, and other respiratory conditions.
- Airway diseases: Asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and other bronchial disorders.
Early detection and diagnosis of thoracic malignancies, including lung, bronchial, pleural, and mediastinal tumors, using advanced techniques such as bronchoscopy, CT-guided lung biopsy, and pleural biopsy. - Sleep apnea diagnosis using respiratory polygraphy, an advanced technique that helps detect obstructive sleep apnea and reduce the risk of sudden death, particularly in overweight or obese individuals, older adults, and patients with multiple comorbidities.
- Pleural drainage procedures for pneumothorax, empyema, malignant pleural effusion, and other pleural diseases.
- Pleurodesis for recurrent pneumothorax, persistent pleural effusion associated with cancer, chylothorax, and other recurrent pleural conditions.
