Overview

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine provides outpatient examination and treatment services on the 3rd floor of the adjacent four-story building.

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine brings together a team of highly qualified physicians, rehabilitation therapists, and specialists who have received formal and comprehensive training. With extensive professional expertise, dedication, and compassion, they are committed to supporting patients throughout their treatment and rehabilitation journey. In particular, the Department regularly sends its staff to leading central hospitals, including Bach Mai Hospital, Viet Duc University Hospital, Vietnam National Children’s Hospital, and Children’s Hospital 2, for advanced training, knowledge updates, and technology transfer programs.

Services

Patients receiving examination and treatment services are eligible for health insurance coverage as well as reimbursement through other insurance providers.

The Department provides treatment for musculoskeletal and neurological conditions, including:

Neck and shoulder pain, lower back pain accompanied by sciatica
Hemiplegia, facial paralysis, and spinal cord injuries
Rehabilitation following injuries and orthopedic surgeries, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, joint replacement, tendon repair, and fracture treatment
Rehabilitation following injuries and trauma, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, joint replacement surgery, tendon repair, and fracture management
In particular, the Department has adopted many advanced techniques transferred from leading central hospitals, including swallowing rehabilitation therapy and bladder rehabilitation training techniques.

Facilities and Equipment

The Department is equipped with modern facilities, advanced medical equipment, and rehabilitation tools.

With spacious infrastructure, clean and modern treatment rooms, the Department includes:
– Physical Therapy Room;
– Exercise Therapy Room;
– Occupational Therapy Room;

In addition, a wide range of rehabilitation and assistive devices are available to support effective treatment and recovery, helping achieve optimal rehabilitation outcomes while meeting patients’ needs and expectations.

Traction therapy machines, shortwave diathermy equipment, paraffin therapy units, electrical stimulation devices, electrotherapy systems, and infrared therapy equipment.
In particular, the Department is equipped with a shockwave therapy system, which is highly effective in reducing pain and treating inflammatory musculoskeletal conditions.
Ultrasound therapy equipment with waterproof ultrasound transducers, enabling therapeutic ultrasound treatment in water for enhanced rehabilitation effectiveness.
Swallowing rehabilitation equipment (the only specialized system in Hai Phong dedicated to the assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders for patients).
